DESCRIPTION: "lith. v. Desguerrois & Comp." This portrait shows the Dutch composer Richard Mulder (1822-74) and his sister, Cecile, sitting at a piano, Cecile is playing while Richard is turning the music pages. Soon after this portrait was made Richard Mulder married the Austrian American soprano Inez Fabbri (1858). <BR><BR> Richard Mulder is also noted as being *"Pianist and Composer for Her Majesty the Queen of Holland" - Queen Sophie of the Netherlands (1818-1877). The woman depicted in this lithograph could also be Queen Sophie. There is a strong resemblance and a painting exists of the Queen wearing the same dress. <BR.> <BR.>*from, "Musical memories" by G.
