Michigan City is located in the northwestern portion of Indiana and was on the Louisville New Albany & Chicago R.R. line. <br><br> The locomotive depicted is a 4-4-0 and was the type produced in the early to mid-1850s.<br><br> In H. T. Peters "America on Stone" the lithography firm of J. Sage & Sons is noted as beginning in business in 1856-57 and its work is described by him as being “excellent”. This cataloger heartily agrees. A beautifully designed print.
