The Fall River Line was the best known and longest running steamship lines that ran between New York and Fall River with connection to Boston. The line ran a number of ships of which the Puritan was one of the most famous.<br><br> The Puritan was designed by George Pierce and built in 1888 in Chester, PA. She operated on Long Island Sound between New York and Fall River It was withdrawn from service in 1912, and was scrapped in 1916.
