• DESCRIPTION: A fine bird's eye view of New Orleans based on John Bachmann iconic lithograph. This view seems to be a proof impression by C. Matter and J.H. Locher. At first glance It looks to be a proof of Bachmann’s iconic view, but looking at the details there are differences in some of the shipping and figures on the shoreline.

This view lacks the normal imprints that are shown, I.E. Bird’s Eye View of; Drawn on stone by C. Matter; Printed by R. Furrer, etc.

The view is likely drawn from Bachmann's view of the City. Matter and Locher are known to have copied a number of Bachmann’s views and published them as their own.

Very scarce. This is the first time that we have recorded of having this lithograph.
