DESCRIPTION: A fine bird's eye view of Boston as seen from Back Bay. This view is based on John Bachmann iconic lithograph. This view seems to be a proof impression by C. Matter and J.H. Locher. At first glance It looks to be a proof of Bachmann’s iconic view, but looking at the details there are minor differences br><br> This view lacks the normal imprints that are shown, I.E. Bird’s Eye View of; Drawn on stone by C. Matter; Printed by R. Furrer, etc.<br><br> The view is likely drawn from Bachmann's view of the City. Matter and Locher are known to have copied a number of Bachmann’s views and published them as their own.<br><br> Scarce.
