  • DESCRIPTION: An allegorical representation of a man's life, from the age of one to one hundred. Includes much symbolism and verse: "At ten he goat-like skips and joys, in idle sports and foolish toys", etc. At age ninety the verse reads "Weak asses' backs were made to bear, at ninety we must suffer ev'ry where."<br><br> There are a number of various printings of this subject, many very similar in this broadside format. The biggest differences seem to be the decorative border and publishers imprint. All seem to have been printed within a ten year span. There is also a Life and Age of Woman but in a horizonal format.
