DESCRIPTION: A rare and unusual separately issued wall map.<br><br> This map largely based on his guide map of the city issued the same year. The differences being the title cartouche, the four views and a map of the Hudson River from NYC to Albany along the right edge. The Views are, left to right, New Amsterdam in 1867. City Hall, the Merchants Exchange, and an imaginary view of the treaty between Gov. Minuit and the natives of Manhattan in 1625.<br><br> Also shown is the newly delineated Central Park.<br><br> The whole of the map is framed within a beautifully engraved border.<br><br>

CONDITION: Fair condition, rubbing, tiny areas of image loss and soft vertical creases. Not unusual for a wall map of the period.
