DESCRIPTION: Painted by Heine J. Kummer & Dopler. Engraved by Himley. A beautiful natural view of the city that was likely made from an actual balloon that was likely tethered to Governor's Island. The Battery is still shown in the water, by 1857 it had been filled in.

CONDITION: Good impression, minor water stains in the upper margin, and a skillfully repaired tear in the left margin just into the image.
