  • DESCRIPTION: Beautifully framed in antique black and gold receding molding, this handmade Valentine is designed with the heart motif. Three hand-drawn hearts, one at the top and two in the bottom corners, are inscribed. The central repeating heart motif is created using text that states, "His throne is on the mountain top, His fields the boundless air, And hoary peaks that proudly prop, The skies his dwellings are. He rises like a thing of light Amid the moon tide blaze : The midway sun is clear and bright, It cannot dim his gaze. I see it and hear it all about me Nay I feel it hear in the glow of my own heart he who made it must be happy and so am I. Man is thy victim lies in thy power, Likness of heaven; agent of power. [center] The heart tho heart O let it be." The text in the top heat: "My [heart] forever Beats for Thee" Bottom heart left: "Who the deuce can this be from" and right "The rose is reed [sic] : The violet is blue : The lilie is fair : And so are you."

  • CONDITION: Good condition. The paper was folded in half twice and thirds. There is some slight wear at the folded corners.
