This series is considered one of the more important eighteenth-century botanical color-plate books and the pineapple is widely considered to be the best plates from the work.<br><br> Christoph Jacob Trew (1695-1769) was a German botanist, solicitor and physician with a keen interest in botany, both for use in medicine and as a study in of itself.<br><br> Georg Dionysius Ehret (1708-1770) One of the most important and influential botanical artists of the 18th century.<br><br>
