DESCRIPTION: General Braddock was a British officer, sent to the American Colony during the French and Indian war to capture Fort Duquesne. The campaign failed miserably and Braddock succumbed to his injuries on July 13, 1755. The young Virginian officer and aide-du camp, George Washington, took charge after Braddock's death.
