Illustrated by Michael Wolgemut and Wilhelm Pleydenwurff, with contributions believed to be from a young Albrecht Dürer, this page reflects the artistic ambition behind one of the most remarkable printed works of the 15th century. A landmark in early book illustration, the Nuremberg Chronicle offers a sweeping look at history, geography, and mythology, blending biblical stories, historical figures, and medieval ideas about the world.
