Shawnee leader, Tecumseh, fell in the battle, and his death marked the end of allied Indian power in the Old Northwest. The victory helped vault Harrison to national fame and ultimately the presidency.

The firm of Shelton & Kensett was founded circa 1812 in Cheshire, Connecticut. It issued a number of maps and pints, many of which are quite scarce.

The engraver for this piece was Ralph Rawdon (1793-1877), an American engraver and printer. Born in Connecticut.
