From "The American Aboriginal Portfolio" by Mrs. Mary H. Eastman, illustrated by S. Eastman, U.S. Army.

In 1763, during Pontiac's War, Native American forces attacked Fort Michilimackinac, a British stronghold. Disguised as a peaceful gathering for a game of baggatiway (a precursor to lacrosse), the Native Americans gained entry to the fort. Once inside, they seized weapons previously hidden with women spectators and launched a surprise assault, killing many British soldiers and capturing the fort. This attack was part of a broader uprising against British policies and presence in the Great Lakes region.
