DESCRIPTION: A rare large bird’s eye view of the town of Huntington, New York. The view is composed from central watercolor of the village by Rene Cinquin. The orientation is somewhat unusual, with north oriented to the upper left corner. New York Avenue bisects the images with Huntington Harbor on the upper left, Huntington Station (LIRR) on the far right. Streets are labeled with hand-lettered names. Surrounding the image are a series of 35 photographic images of public buildings and local businesses.<br><br> Below is a brief description of the town and a list of prominent businesses and their addresses. The description begins with: “Huntington holds a front rank among Long Island’s most attractive, substantial and progressive villages. Nature and art are here combined to make it a high class home community… “.<br><br> Rene Cinquin was a panoramic map artist active in the New York City metropolitan area during the 1920’s. published by either Hughes & Cinquin of Brooklyn, or the Metropolitan Aero-View Corporation of New York.<br><br> The Library of Congress has seven “Aero-Views” of Long Island towns and six of New Jersey towns. All are drawn by Rene Cinquin between 1924 and 1929. This view is not on that list or is listed in John Reps “View’s and Viewmakers.”<br><br>

CONDITION: Good condition save for some occasional lite fox marks.
