The first Russian soldier.

The Russian Guards began in the era of Peter the Great and is inextricably linked with the reformist policies of Peter I. In 1683, 11-year-old Peter Alekseevich Romanov, crowned by the kingdom, created the famous amusing regiments. Initially, they were created solely in order to "amuse" the young king who was fascinated by military art. The first Russian guard was Sergei Leontievich Bukhvostov - a former royal groom, who joined the amusing regiment. In 1692, the amusing soldiers of Peter were consolidated into the 3-th Moscow Elective Regiment, commanded by Auton Mikhailovich Golovin, and divided into two regiments, Preobrazhensky and Semenovsky. In 1700, the funny Preobrazhensky and Semenovsky regiments were given the names of the Life Guards..
