• DESCRIPTION: Colored lithograph depicting Andrew Jackson on his deathbed, issued shortly after his death in June 1845. This impression was published by T. W. Strong, from his address at 98 Nassau Street, New York, and is one of several lithographic versions of the subject produced in New York that year. The lithograph bears an attributed quotation beneath the image: “I am in the hands of a merciful God. I have full confidence in his goodness and mercy. The Bible is true.”
