It includes New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. A portion of the Western Territory is shown, corresponding to present-day Ohio and part of Indiana, with northeastern Ohio labeled as the “Connecticut Reserve.” Each state and territory is individually colored, making for an attractive and informative early American map.
