A group of men, presumably merchants by their ethnic diversity, gather in the foreground. The two seated on the ground appear to be playing some sort of game. Each has a bag in their hand, and the figure on the far right has just tossed a coin-sized object onto the fabric laid on the ground.
This scene is likely set in Northern Africa, where Eby and his wife traveled in 1921. Eby produced several prints of the region in the years that followed. Signed and dated in ink lower right within image "Eby 23." 20th Century Subjects, Drawings And Watercolors
