The subjects Cronau selected and drew so skillfully are primarily Western-oriented. Infrequently depicted by other artists, they include city views and landscapes, as well as genre scenes of cowboy and Indian life. <br><br> This lithograph likely depicts a claim jumper - someone attempting to steal a gold prospector's land claim. <br><br>
