• DESCRIPTION: Lithographed by Edward Weber, Baltimore. From Capt. John C. Fremont's "Report of the Exploring Expedition to the Rocky Mountains...and to Oregon and North California." Preuss was the German-born artist and mapmaker who accompanied Freemont. His drawings are among the earliest illustrations of sites destined to become Western landmarks.
