DESCRIPTION: Hand-colored lithograph by Mrs. Jane W. Loudon features three varieties of Passion Flowers from "The Ladies' Flower Garden of Ornamental Greenhouse Plants," published in London in 1848 (1850). The first variety, Passiflora caerulea, also known as the Blue Passionflower or Common Passionflower, is a species native to South America. It is renowned for its striking blue and white flowers, making it a popular ornamental plant.

The second variety, Passiflora alata-caerulea (or Passiflora alaso-caerulea as mentioned), may be a historical or variant name for a hybrid or species related to Passiflora caerulea. The third variety, Jacsenia, is likely either a misspelling or an outdated botanical name that has since been updated, as it is not immediately recognizable in modern botanical taxonomy. All three plants are part of the Passionflower family, celebrated for their vibrant and unique blooms.
