• DESCRIPTION: Arthur St. Clair (1736 – 1818) was born in Scotland and came to America during the French and Indian war with the British Army (American Regiment). He eventually settled in Western Pennsylvania where he owned a large parcel of land. He served as the fifteenth President of the Continental Congress under the Articles of Confederation and was a general in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
