  • DESCRIPTION: Signed and dated lower left "Fred. S. Cozzens 08." This scene shows the Knickerbocker Yacht Club regatta fleet under sail off of Sandy Hook Light.<br><br> The Knickerbocker Yacht Club was founded in 1874 on the Harlem River in Manhattans. In 1907, the club moved to Port Washington and was the second-oldest yacht club on the Long Island Sound. After 135 years in operation, the club closed it's doors in 2009.

  • ADDITIONAL INFO: Titled in pencil on verso. Provenance: This watercolor was at one time owned by and hung at the Knickerbocker Yacht Club.

  • CONDITION: Overall in good condition. There is some loss of image in the lower margin due to a old mat being glued down and lifted off. There is no real loss of quality image. Traces of old mat line along image. All easily matted out.
