  • DESCRIPTION: Engraving by Johann Friedrich Leonart, c. 1655, depicting Heinrich Matthias, Count of Thurn (1567–1640), the Bohemian nobleman and military leader whose role in the Defenestration of Prague in 1618 helped spark the Thirty Years’ War. Shown in old age, he is portrayed bust-length, turned to the right while looking toward the viewer, wearing a cloak over armor. The image is enclosed within an octagonal frame decorated with oak leaves and acorns, set inside a rectangular border, with the title and a brief biographical note in Italian below.
